Cassini's dual-technique magnetometer, led by Imperial College London, mapped Saturn's magnetic field from orbit aboard Cassini–Huygens. Its most celebrated moment came early: measurements showing Saturn's field draping oddly around the small moon Enceladus hinted that the moon was actively venting gas, prompting the closer flybys that revealed the now-famous water-ice plumes of its south pole.
